Leonardo da Vinci is widely recognized as one of the greatest minds in history, and his designs are a testament to his incredible imagination and skill. From his sketches of flying machines and military weapons to his plans for grand architectural feats and innovative engineering projects, da Vinci’s designs are still admired and studied today.

Da Vinci’s designs for flying machines were also ahead of their time, and he created detailed drawings of gliders, helicopters, and ornithopters (machines that flap their wings to fly). While he never built a working flying machine himself, his designs inspired future inventors and engineers to pursue the dream of flight.

In addition to his designs for flying machines, da Vinci also created numerous designs for military weapons and defenses. He designed tanks, submarines, and cannons, as well as a system of mirrors that could be used to deflect sunlight onto enemy ships, setting them on fire.

Crossbow:
The da Vinci Crossbow Miniature is a working re-creation of his 15th Century design. The Giant Crossbow is one of Leonardo’s most epic weapons. He made drawings of many crossbow styles, and this one was designed to launch stone balls, instead of arrows, like most crossbows. We don’t know if it was ever made, but it sure was big!

Aerial Screw:
The Da Vinci Aeriel Screw Miniature is an iconic image that and defines an artist and inventor well ahead of his time. This working model has a canopy that spins on the support structure, illustrating a way Leonardo thought flight might be possible!

Ornithopter:
The Leonardo da Vinci Ornithopter Miniature is a working re-creation of his original 15th century design. Flying has always been a dream of humans and Leonardo’s fascination with birds ad flight was evident in his many studies of human powered flying machine.

Catapult:
The da Vinci Catapult miniature is a working re-creation of his 15th Century design. Leonardo designed a wide range of catapults, some functional, some not so much.

This catapult re-creates one of Leonardo’s more interesting designs that uses the power of bent wood to launch projectiles.  Make and launch small projectiles up to 10 metres!

Who do we use?

For NZ orders we either track and send our parcels with either Aramex or NZ Post couriers. 


How much will it cost me?

New Zealand - FREE for all orders over $100 (excluding carseats, strollers, furniture and other large items which are pick up in store only).  Orders under $100 will be charged a flat rate of $10.00.

Australia - $30 for orders under $400.


How long will it take to arrive?

Pre-Orders: Pre-orders normally arrive 2-3 weeks after a pre-order has been launched. If you order a mix of in stock items and a pre-order item, we will hold your full order until all is in stock and send together. If you would like your in stock items sent separately please email or call us (there may be an additional freight charge).

NZ Urban Nationwide: 3-5 working days. Please ensure you provide a physical address and a safe location as many Couriers are providing contactless deliveries (if you do not, then the Courier may leave your delivery in your letterbox or some other location they deem safe).

NZ Rural: 4-10 working days. Please note rural deliveries may result in an extra 2 working days from the standard delivery times.

Please note that if your order is placed over the weekend or on a public holiday, the dispatch process will not begin until the next working day. Your order will be processed and shipped to you as soon as possible. Once your order has been dispatched you will receive an email notification with a tracking number.
